Back in the UK

Monday, January 29th, 2007

I got back on Saturday from a business trip to London.  What a shock - the pilot announced that it was cero grados when we landed at Heathrow.  I had a few long days in the office, met up with Gareth, John and Miguel for a few pints at The Fox pub in Boston Manor, [...]

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

We have Isabel’s brother, Juan staying with us for a couple of nights.  He’s here on business, so Isabel cooked a delicious tortilla de patata in his honour.  Completed with morcillas and some spicey salchichas, and of course pan

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

I’ve started a new page on where the street names of Barcelona come from.  It draws on the existing street name dictionary available on the Ayuntamiento’s web site.  Click on our blog page to see what’s there.

Marc Blau

Sunday, January 14th, 2007

We went for dinner last night at Marc Blau in Roger De Lluria opposite the Ritz Hotel. The restaurant is basically non-smoking which is a plus in Barcelona, and the meal was of a reasonably good standard. I had a pasta starter (a bit too soft for me, but  seems to be “al dente español”), [...]

Started for sure…?

Thursday, January 11th, 2007

We’ve finally got around to setting up a blog.  It’s not the first time that we’ve done this, but hopefully we’ll have a better stab at it this time.
I’ve created the first few (blank) pages for Food and Drink and for the Eixample district where we live.
