Holidays

Tuesday, August 14th, 2007

We’ve just had a few weeks great holidays in Spain.  We started off with a memorable concert in one of our favourite buildings in Barcelona - the Palau de la Música.  Isabel and I were entertained by the wonderful Norah Jones.  She has such an amazing voice and the band are an exceptionally good bunch [...]

Great things about living in Barcelona

Friday, July 13th, 2007

Last weekend we had family visiting us; Isabel’s brother Juan, his wife Montse and their eight-year-old Daniel. We had a great weekend. Errr at least after Friday night when Juan, Dani and I made a trip to Ikea to get some wardrobes for Edmund’s bedroom. The flat packs just about squeezed [...]

Meet the family

Thursday, May 10th, 2007

We were in Zaragoza last weekend for our nephew Daniel’s confirmation.  Everyone had a great time.  We picked up a car from our friendly neighbourhood Car Hire place and drove to Zaragoza in about 3 hours.  We spent Saturday evening with Isabel’s brother Jesús, wife Mamen and kids Jesusito and Leonor.  Sunday had a packed agenda [...]

Wedding bells

Thursday, May 3rd, 2007

Uncle George spotted in Barcelona

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

If it weren’t for the Barcelona number plate, I’d swear that this is my Uncle George on the Quad bike. We’ve seen a few of these in the city recently - I guess that they are easy to park!

Catch up

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

I haven’t posted anything for a few weeks, so a catch-up is long overdue. We had a wonderful week with Edmund over Easter. The weather was truly awful (by Barcelona standards) and it rained every single day, but that didn’t dampen our spirits! We paid a visit to the Natural History museum [...]

The rain in Spain

Monday, April 2nd, 2007

We’ve got my son Edmund staying for the first week of the Easter holidays, and it’s fantastic to have him here. Unfortunately the new flat was not quite ready on time to move in to, so we’re still in rented accommodation, but he doesn’t mind in the slightest. We took Edmund round to [...]

Juanico, el mañico

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

We have Isabel’s brother, Juan staying with us for a couple of nights.  He’s here on business, so Isabel cooked a delicious tortilla de patata in his honour.  Completed with morcillas and some spicey salchichas, and of course pan
Also had to do prepare the dreaded Self Assessment tax returns for last year as the dealine [...]
